From Waste to Wonder
Every Ameya product begins its life in an Indian rice field. Here's how agricultural waste becomes beautiful, durable tableware.
The Rice Field
Across India, millions of acres of rice paddies produce not just grain — but mountains of husk waste.
Every harvest leaves behind rice husks. Farmers, with no use for them, burn them in the fields.
Harvest the Husk
We collect the rice husks before they're burned, turning pollution into possibility.
Our network of farmers and collection centres diverts thousands of tonnes annually from burning.
Grind & Blend
The husks are ground into a fine powder and blended with food-safe, non-toxic binders.
No BPA. No melamine. No harmful chemicals. Just rice husk and certified food-grade materials.
Mould Under Heat
The biocomposite material is heated and pressed into shape using precision moulds.
High pressure and heat create a material that's harder than ceramic but lighter than glass.
Beautiful Tableware
The result: stunning, durable tableware that tells a story of waste transformed into wonder.
Microwave safe. Dishwasher safe. Unbreakable. And 60% more affordable than ceramic.

“What if the rice husk that farmers burn could become beautiful tableware?”
— The question that started it all
Born From a Simple Idea
Ameya was born in Mumbai from a single observation: Indian farmers burn millions of tons of rice husk every year, filling our skies with smoke and our lungs with pollutants.
We asked ourselves — what if this “waste” could be transformed into something useful, something beautiful? That question led us to develop a process that turns rice husk into durable, food-safe tableware.
Today, every Ameya plate, bowl, and mug carries this story — of waste turned to wonder, of an India that innovates sustainably.

From Waste
to Wonder
India produces over 20 million tonnes of rice husk every year. Most of it is burned, creating toxic smog. We transform this waste into beautiful tableware that lasts for years.
Every Ameya plate diverts rice husk from burning, supports farmers with extra income, and gives your family a safer, more sustainable alternative.
